Sydney Patios designs and builds pergolas, patios and carports for homes across Sutherland. Most houses here are established brick and tile with generous yards, so we design structures that use that space properly rather than squeezing into a corner.

Sutherland is established territory. A lot of the homes here date from the sixties through the eighties, brick and tile with genuine room behind the house. That is a good problem to have, because a bigger yard gives you real choice about where a pergola sits and how far it spans. We build across the Shire every week, including jobs in Kirrawee, Loftus and Jannali, so we know how these older homes are put together. Older eaves, fascias and roof pitches all affect how a new structure attaches, and we check that on site before we quote.
We build through Sutherland Shire Council regularly, including nearby Kirrawee and Jannali. We know how older brick and tile homes are framed and where a new structure can attach cleanly.
ou see your pergola in 3D CAD before we order a single beam. Post positions, roof height and span are confirmed on screen, so there are no surprises on install day.
Choose from open pergolas, insulated roofing, louvred opening roofs, carports and sunrooms. One team, one quote, and a structure sized to your yard rather than a fixed kit.
You deal with the same people from first measure to final clean-up. We answer the phone, keep you posted on dates, and leave the site tidy when we finish.
We use powder-coated aluminium and steel framing built for Australian conditions. Every structure is engineered for local wind loading and backed by a 10-year structural guarantee.
Big yard, sloping ground, an old pergola to remove first. We design around what is already there instead of asking you to work around a standard product.
Got the space but not sure how to use it? We will come out, measure the yard and talk through spans, heights and roof options at no cost.
Whatever you have in mind for the back of your home, we design, engineer and install it ourselves. Here is the full range we build for local homeowners, all under one licence.
Open or roofed patios sized to your yard. We match the roof line to your existing house so the addition looks original, not bolted on afterwards.
Sandwich panel roofing with a flat ceiling underneath. Downlights and fans sit flush in the panels, and the insulated core keeps the space cooler through summer.
Covered parking that suits your driveway and front setback. Single or double spans, with gutters and downpipes tied into your existing stormwater.
Enclose a patio with glazing and framing to create a sealed room. A practical way to add usable floor space without a full extension.
Track-guided mesh screens that hold position in wind. Drop them to block low sun and rain, roll them up and the opening is clear again.
Motorised aluminium blades you angle for shade or close for rain. Full control over light and airflow at the press of a button.
Larger structural work where a roof alone will not do it. We handle the engineering, the paperwork and the build from start to finish.
Freestanding or attached pergolas in powder-coated aluminium. Open rafters for filtered light, or add roofing later if you decide you want full cover.

Kelvin and the entire team are extremely professional. The work was of the highest quality. Excellent communication throughout the job. We asked for many changes to get the job done and this was never a problem. I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you, looks awesome.
We are not a sales office that hands your job to a subcontractor. The same team measures your site, draws the plans, lodges the paperwork and swings the tools. That means one point of contact and one licence standing behind the finished structure.
We measure your yard, check the existing roof line and listen to how you want to use the space. You then see the design in 3D CAD, with post positions and heights confirmed before anything is ordered.
We prepare the engineering, lodge the application with Sutherland Shire Council where one is needed, and book your install. You get clear dates and a single contact who keeps you updated throughout.

Our crew builds, cleans up and walks you through the finished structure. Every installation carries our 10-year structural guarantee, so you know it is built to last.
Our crews work right across the Shire and the wider southern suburbs. As well as Sutherland, we build regularly in Kirrawee, Loftus, Jannali and Woronora, and we head down to Heathcote and Engadine most weeks. Working the same pocket day in and day out means we know the housing stock, the block sizes and the approval process, so your job moves without unnecessary delays.

We build in powder-coated aluminium and steel, with insulated sandwich panel or Colorbond roofing depending on the design. Aluminium will not rust, holds its colour and needs almost no upkeep. We match the powder-coat finish to your existing gutters and window frames so the new structure suits the house.
Some structures fall under exempt or complying development, and others need an application to Sutherland Shire Council. It depends on the size, height, position and your specific block. We assess this during your free site visit, tell you which path applies, and prepare and lodge the paperwork for you if approval is required.
Once your design is signed off and any approval is in place, most patios and pergolas are installed within a few days on site. The lead time before that depends on material orders and the approval pathway. We give you realistic dates up front and keep you posted if anything shifts.
Every installation comes with our 10-year structural guarantee. Roofing, powder-coat finishes and hardware also carry manufacturer warranties. We have held NSW Builders Licence No. 266141C since 2013 and are Master Builders Association members, so there is a licensed builder standing behind the work.
Two things. First, how the new structure ties into an older roof, because eaves, fascias and pitches vary a lot on homes of that era, and we check the framing before we quote. Second, how much of the yard to cover. With room to spare you can run a longer clear span with fewer posts, which usually gives a far better result than a small square of cover.
We cover the whole Shire and the southern suburbs. That includes Kirrawee, Loftus, Jannali and Woronora, along with Heathcote, Engadine, Gymea and Miranda. Call 1300 813 000 and we will confirm we can get to your street.
