Austral Sydney Patios is proud to showcase one of our recently completed projects – a large, custom-designed awning for the Liverpool City Council at Craik Park, Austral. This 18m x 6m awning exemplifies our commitment to delivering tailored, high-quality solutions for our clients, no matter the scope or complexity of the project.
One of this project’s standout features was our customised attachment approach. The awning was designed to attach to the parapet of an existing building, a solution that required careful planning and engineering. Our team worked closely with an engineer to ensure the design was practical and compliant with safety standards. The plan received full approval and certification following thorough review and assessment, attesting to our adherence to top-notch standards in all our constructions.
The awning structure was built using robust, high-grade materials for their longevity and durability. These included SHS150 aluminium posts, Stratco Pro-Beam 170 for the rafter beams, and RHS100X50 aluminium beams for battens. These materials were selected to ensure the structure’s stability and resilience, promising a stable, reliable outdoor facility for the Council.
We used industrial-grade Lysaght Trimdek 0.48 BMT and Ampelite Webglas GC 3660 GSM for the roofing. These materials were specifically chosen for their strength and durability in various weather conditions. Designed to withstand the harsh Sydney climate, the roofing materials offer exceptional protection from sun, rain, and wind, ensuring the structure remains usable and comfortable all year round.
Waterproofing is a crucial element of any outdoor structure, and this project was no exception. We installed custom-made flashings behind the existing parapet flashing to ensure the awning was fully protected from potential water damage. This extra measure provided enhanced water protection, preventing leaks and prolonging the lifespan of the awning.
